Short-tail keywords

These, on the other hand, are short and primarily focuses on your business directly. When you look at the statistics, the individual short tail keywords are more searched than their long tail counterparts. They are generic and have the potential to drive traffic to your site. Many prefer them because they are so much easier to create and integrate into content.

However, before conducting keyword research, you need first analyze the chosen keywords and your competitor’s keyword cloud. This should be done before the launching of your SEO campaign. Bear in mind, keyword research and analysis requires time and effort and sometimes you need to forego some certain keywords due to their “difficulty level”, there is no point chasing after a keyword that has a difficulty level of 90 —  who does that?

Technical SEO

You need to audit your website to know what elements need on-page optimization — technical SEO. There are elements on your website that enables your website to perform better on search engines such as Title tags, Header tags, Sitemaps, website loading time, images, URL structure and the strategic placements of keywords in key areas on your web pages.

That being said, if you overuse the keywords improperly on your web pages, that could get your website penalized by Google. Therefore, to avoid this, make sure that you follow Google best practice and guidelines.
